A beneficial transition activity before handwriting or fine motor tasks. It will prime the intrinsic muscles of the hand, to help improve handwriting and fine motor task performance.
Instructions
Spread your fingers wide apart, with your palms facing each other.
Spin your hands in opposite directions to glue each thumb to the pinkie on your other hand.
Unstick your bottom thumb and pinkie; rotate your hands in opposite directions to bring that thumb and pinkie up to the top; and re-stick them together.
Repeat a few times.
Unstick your top thumb and pinkie; rotate your hands in opposite directions to bring that thumb and pinkie down to the bottom; and re-stick them together.
Repeat a few times.

Fine Motor
Stick your thumbs together and your pinkies together. Rotate both hands towards you, until your fingers are pointing up. Rotate your hands away from you until your fingers are pointing down. Keep repeating.

Put a piece of double-sided sticky tape on the tip of each thumb, to feel the sticky web while doing Spider Spin.
